In the epidermis of the medaka, Oryzias latipes, numerous desmosomes were characteristically arranged in a very long row. The length of a desmosome row was widely variable, occasionally extending to more than 10μm. The length of each desmosome in a row of desmosome varied between 90nm and 200nm, and the interval between each varied 40nm and 100nm.
