Spaceborne microwave radiometer is very useful to monitor global water circulation. These utilities have been verified by using AMSR-E mounted on AQUA and AMSR mounted on ADEOS-II. However, harmful interference causes much degradation of performance of these radiometers. Therefore, there are various agenda items for WRC (World Radiocommunication Conference) and questions for ITU-R in order to protect observation spectra from other service stations such as fixed / mobile services and UWB system for communication and radar, and to conduct sharing and compatibility studies in order to find proper sharing conditions. In this paper, how to use various spectra of microwave radiometer in order to derive physical parameter related with water circulation is shown. World wide deployment model of fixed service stations and new reference antenna pattern of microwave radiometer are proposed and used to conduct sharing studies between spaceborne microwave radiometer and point-to-point fixed service stations. As a result of these studies, it was found that minimizing the sidelobe level of antenna pattern of spaceborne microwave radiometer contributes to good sharing.
