We analyze the radiation properties of printed dipoles suspended above a ground plane and in the presence of the reflecting ground. An integral equation with an electric current radiating in a multilayered medium is formulated and solved by using the Galerkin's method. The input impedance is calculated without the reflecting ground which has significant effect on the radiation pattern. Attached or detached patches are also included in the analysis to explore their effects on improving the input impedance bandwidth.
