Screen spot size of the CRT for Projection Display is improved 17%, 14%, and 10% for beam current 0.5, 2.0, 6.0mA, respectively. This improvement is achieved mainly by the reduction of electrode dimensions in the electron beam forming region of the CRT electron gun. The reduction improves the aberration and increases the electron beam current density at the cathode surface. These result in decrease of the electron beam cross over size, and therefore the decrease of the screen spot size.
