Catalyzer particles for the growth of carbon nanotube(CNT)is generated by using hydrosol of Fe(OH)_3. Aligned-CNT film with excellent field emission property is prepared with this process. The catalyzer is printed onto the substrate through a mask, so a simple cathode pattern is generated. CNT films synthesized by this technique is applied as electron sources in a prototype of diode FED. Stable electron emission, adequate luminance and a long life of these displays have been demonstrated.
