It is important to use satellite RF power efficiently in restricted satellite resource, especially in case of Ka-band communication systems. For the purpose of efficient use of RF power in satellite systems, Ka-band high power multi-port amplifier (MPA) is adopted in WINDS (Wideband InterNetworking engineering test and Demonstration Satellite) system, this will be launched by the H-IIA launch vehicle in 2005 (Japanese fiscal year). This paper describes outline of the MPA for the WINDS system and test results of the Breadboard Model (BBM).
