A planar slot array antenna is designed for receiving the Ku-Band Thaicom satellite broadcasting signal. The antenna is desired to provide linearly polarization with the gain more than 30 dB_i at the frequency of 12.66 GHz. Each of the sixteen inclined slots on the broadwall of the main waveguide are employed to excite sixteen longitudinal slots on the broadwall of the branch waveguide uniformly. This paper describes the design of this antenna and shows some measured characteristics, i.e., radiation pattern, gain and impedance. Discussions on the results are addressed.
