Video browsing system based on scenarios

This paper presents a method and a prototype system for video browsing to retrieve video data which contains not only images but also text, voices, sounds, characters and so on. The system must be able to easily retrieve information using the relations between different types of information. We also want to retrieve information using high abstract keys which make it easy feels for humans to recognize scenes in a video. In this paper, we describe a trial using a video of Noh, which is a traditional Japanese play, because we could easily obtain Noh videos and text books including scenarios, actions to words, and so on. We developed a prototype system which is able to retrieve a scene by an action name, words, a position on the stage of the Noh video.
