A Study of the Clinical Effects of Bio-feedback Therapy

Alpha wave BF therapy was conducted for anxiety disorder, skin temperature BF therapy for migraine, and EMG BF therapy for writer's cramp with an effective rate of 50%, 77.8%, and 85%, respectively. Two points were characteristic in the effective cases of each of the treatments. First, the physiolog-ical indices of BF therapy adequately reflect the pathologic tension conditions of the patients and besides there was a sufficient margin for learning. Second, desired changes developed in one session of BF therapy, suggesting the possibility of determining the indications for BF therapy.
