If properly used, biofeedback may be a powerful treatment for some kinds of psychiatric diseases and for neuromusclar re-education in rehabilitation. Therapists should provide biofeedback with careful consideration in determining the methodology according to the patient's symptoms, histories, and personality. General purpose biofeedback system is designed to help therapists select, develop, execute, and evaluate the methods. The present paper concerns the concept, three examples in implementation, and some clinical applications.
