Realization of a system for evaluating music aesthetics is one of the targets for researchers majoring in computer music. A computer system that can evaluate music aesthetics for four parts is discussed in this paper. Answers for a given bass taskin the theory of harmony are regarded to be allowable if they don't violate any of the inhibition rules required in the theory of harmony. Some solutions, however, are good and others are poor from a viewpoint of music aesthetics even when they don't violate any inhibition rules. Not so large difference is recognized among aesthetic evaluation by experts in music. By implementing aesthetic factors pointed out by experts, a computer program "MAESTRO" realizes proper aesthetic evaluation for allowable solutions of a given bass task. It is also confirmed that MAESTRO can evaluate music aesthetics as the same level as excellent students majoring in music.
