咬合挙上冠除去後の顎関節への影響に関する実験的研究

In order to investigate the relation between temporomandibular disorder and occlusal disharmony, an experimental study was made. A bite raising metal cast crown was set on the lower unilateral molars in macaca fuscata for 120 days. Then the crown was removed. The histopathological changes of the temporomandibular joint were observed on 30th, 60th, 120th, 180th days after removal of the crown. The results were as follows : 1. The condyle of the experiment side appeared slightly flattened on 60th day after removal of the crown. 2. On the anterior aspect of the condyle, bone resorption began on 60th day on the experiment side, and also on 120th day on the opposite side. 3. On the posterior aspect of the condyle, bone resorption was revealed on the experiment side from 30th day to 120th day. 4. Irregular arrangement of the condylar cartilagenous zone progressed daily after removal of the crown in the posterior region. This irregularity appeared in the non-experiment side on 120th day, but the arrangement became regular on 180th day. 5. In the anterior region of the articular fossa, the fibrous bundles and the cartilage layer were seen arranged irregularly and the cartilage matrix proliferated for 120th days after removal of the crown. On 180th day the cartilagenous zone was seen arranged more regularly. 6. The anterior aspect of the postglenoid spine, on 30th day, revealed bone resorption on the experiment side and new bone formation on the opposite side. Thereafter new bone formation was seen on bilateral side. 7. Histological changes in the articular disk appeared remarkably in the experiment side after removal of the crown ; the post band thickened remarkably, and the superior surface of the post band revealed folds of connective tissue, and on 120th day a lip of loose connective tissue appeared. As described above, resulting from removal of the bite raising crown, bilateral condyle became instable in the articular fossa especially in the experiment side. However, slight stability was restored on 180th day.
