A simulation method has been proposed to estimate the effective elastic moduli of a porous elastic body made of sintered spherical particles by analyzing the response of a random network of springs with 6 degrees of freedom to uniform deformations ; the spring network is constructed by computer simulation of a three-dimensional random packing of spherical particles, whereas the spring constants of a pair of sintered particles are estimated by the FEM. In order to verify the proposed method, its two-dimensional version has been applied to an estimation of the effective Young modulus, and the specific procedures of the proposed method have been examined in detail.
