It seems that a new view of the Silk Road, or Eurasian civilization, i.e. "Serinde", has been appearing in recent years in Europe and the Christian world. Though the term "Serinde" is a rather old geographical one indicating the area between India and China in Central Asia, it is now clad in a new concept which not only indicates 'the millennium of Buddhism' and 'the extent of Buddhist civilization', but will also symbolize the fusion of Eastern and Western civilization in the forthcoming third millennium. It is, in other words, a rediscovery of Buddhism by Europe and Christianity, and it will be a new, useful guide in guiding humanity in its transition from the 'Bewildering 20th Century' into the new era.
