This paper describes a lens system that enables one lens compatibility between next generation rewritable videodisk system and digital versatile disk (DVD).The lens system consists of a bi-aspherical single objective lens, a holographic optical element and spectral selective filter. The lens system has good aberration characteristics on the both system and the difference of the working distance is as small as 0.1mm.
