Magnetic Properties of Nanocomposite Nd_<2x>Fe_<95-3x>Co_4Nb_1B_x (x=4-6) Ribbons

The melt spun ribbons of two-phase nanocomposite Nd_<2x>Fe_<95-2x>Co_4Nb_1B_x (x=4-6) have been prepared by rapid quenching and post heat treatment. The effect of exchange coupling between the nanostructure grains of Nd_2(Fe,Co,Nb)_<14>B and α-Fe(Co,Nb) are observed clearly. The sample with x=4 has both the highest Curie temperature enhancement (about 10K) and the largest remanence enhancement. The sample with x=6 has the highest coercivity (about 1.31 T). The best magnetic properties obtained in Nd_9Fe_<81.5>Co_4Nb_1B_<4.5> ribbons are as follows: (BH)_<max>=154.4kJ/m^3, J_r=1.11T and μ_0H_<cJ>=0.65T.
