The immuno-interaction i.e. the interaction between antigen and antibody is highly specific and strong, and an antibody against a specific antigen can generally be raised by immunization. Therefore, this interaction has been aplied to separation, detecton and analysis of biological materials. For effective application in these fields, the effects of antigen characteristics and environmental conditions(pH, ionic strenght and anion species)on the adsorption equilibrim between immobilized antibodies and antigens were studied by use of haptens, peptides and proteins as antigens. Performance of immunoaffinity chromatography, which depends on the immuno-interaction, was studied to clarify effective utilization comditions and methods of antibody ligands. A new homogeneous immunoassay by use of immunoliposomes is also proposed.
