• This paper concerns a new energy system for quartz watches which eliminates the necessity of battery exchange. We have published a technical paper of this study in the journal (No. 120, March 1987) of the Horological Institute of Japan. The principle, mechanism, and theoretical analysis of a new energy system which is called "Automatic Generating System" (AGS) were described in that paper. With this system, kinetic energy such as arm movement is transferred into electric energy. This energy is stored in the secondary electric power source.
