A new metabolite of maleic hydrazide (MH ; 1, 2-dihydro-3, 6-pyridazinedione) was isolated from MH-treated tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L. ) plants. The purified metabolite was identified as MH-N-β-D-glucoside by means of TLC, FAB-MS, ^1H-NMR, and ^<13>C-NMR analyses.
