We must show that homemaking is useful for living and has something that other subjects cannot give, to claim its independence among many school subjects. So we must consider what to teach in homemaking education. Hitherto in homemaking education, in general, only natural-scientific knowledges of food and clothing have been given. But I think a rational way of daily home life should de taught in it. Living is a continuation of solving various problems. I would rather think that in a homemaking subject, an appropriate way of solving the problems in daily life should be studied. To solve problems in life, scientific knowledge over wide fieds is necessary. In other words, not only natural-scientific knowledge but also social-and civilscientific knowledge is necessary. Someone may say that my idea is a mere collection af all general subjects of study, but he is wrong. I believe it better that in homemaking the application of the law of general science should be studied, according to the necessities of daily life.
