A209 INTERACTION OF CONTINUOUS CONVEX AND CONCAVE CURVATURES ON LAMINAR PREMIXED FLAME(Laminar flame-2)

We investigated experimentally an interaction between continuous flame segments with the concave and the convex curvature. In order to ascertain the interaction, we compared the continuous convex and concave curved flame with the single convex curved flame, and the lean and rich propane-air mixtures were used. Measurements of the flame temperature and the flame shape show that the burning intensity is changed at curved flame segments through flame stretch and preferential diffusion of heat and mass. Furthermore, the measurement of the temperature show that the convex curved flame segment which is weakened receives the heat from the concave curved flame segment which is intensified, in the lean propane-air mixture (Le>1). In the rich mixtue (Le<1), moreover, the flame segment with the convex releases heat to that with the concave. Consequently, it is found that the thermal interaction between continuous flame segments with the concave and the convex curvature exists.
