• The equation of the loss of heat from a piping laid in the ground, and the equation of the temperature drop of water in a hot water piping are given with experimental results of a hot water piping about 1400 meters long. It is explained that the loss of heat from a hot piping will be sometimes increased by laying it in the ground. At the end of the paper it is shown that by a hot water piping the discharging temperature will be raised by mixing cooler water at the beginning, if its temperature is higher than a limit which is always lower than the initial discharging temperature.
