Peptide-antigen was prepared from worms of Schistosoma Japonicum by Yamamura's method. It was fractionated by column chromatography using Sephadex-G50. As a result, four kinds of antigen were obtained and called Fractions A, B, C, and D. They were adjusted to such concentration of antigen as expressed by N=1γ/0.02ml and compared with the WHO standard antigen with regard to antigenic reaction. It was observed that a specific reaction occurred when Fraction A and D had been used, There was a difference in intesity of the reaction between the two fractions. Fraction A gave rise both to wheal and erythema to a great extent, but Fraction D caused relatively intense erythema. It is presumed therefore that the antigenicity of one fraction may be different from that of the other fraction qualitatively. No group reaction was proved in the investigation of Fraction A and D.
