In an attempt to ascertain the antigenicity of Mollusca protein, experimental studies have been made in rabbits with extracts of the muscle of the wreath shell. The protein pattern of this extract was observed as a simple band between β and γ globulin of human serum in paper electrophoresis. When the rabbits were sensitized with the Turbo extract, precipitin against this extract was detected in serum of all rabbits. When experimental allergies were produced with the mixture of this extract and red cell cephaline as an antigen, severe anemia were found transiently after the reinjection, i.e. Erythron-Allergy was occurred, but anaphylactic shock syndrome were hardly observed.
