The vehicular function of leukocyte of the antigenic substances was investigated in the food allergy and the drug (irgapyrin) allergy by means of the same methods as described in the report 1. The leucocytes were obtained from the healthy persons before and after taking an usual meal, raw eggs, or irgapyrin. The leukocytes thus obtained were injected intracutaneously to healthy persons and patients having various diseases. Positive skin reactions were specifically observed in patients with the beaf allergy when the leucocytes obtained after taking an usual meal were used. Positive reactions to the raw eggs were observed in the cases of food (chiefly egg) allergy and irgapirin positive reactions were observed in patients with irgapirin allergy. Passive transfer skin tests between the sera of patients with egg allergy and the leucocytes obtained from a healthy persons after taking eggs were positive. The above mentioned reactions seemed to be more remarkable when lymphocytes were used than the case of granulocytes. It is suggested that leucocytes, especially lymphocytes, have a property to combine with the antigenic food proteins or chemical drugs and serve for the transportation of it.
