In addition to the momentum integral equation, the energy integral equation of the boundary layer is used for an approximate calculation of the jet flows issuing from a finite width nozzle and from a finite radius nozzle. The length of the zone of flow establishment, the width or radius of the jets and the center-line velocity are calculated. The eddy kinematic viscosity is assumed to be proportional to both the center-line velocity and the mean width or radius of the jets. This assumption means that the constant contained in the eddy kinematic viscosity is to have a universal constant value. The results of the authors' experiments are compared with the calculations, and the value of the constant involved in the eddy kinematic viscosity is determined.
