Visco-plastic Large Deformation Analysis by Finite Element Method and Its Applications : Inextensional Deformation of Thin-walled Square Tube

This paper treats of a problem of inextensional deformation collapse of a thin-walled square tube under axial compressive impulsive load. The analytical method is based on visco-plastic large deformation analysis involving material and geometrical non-linearity. The results of calculation are compared with the experimental ones, and the dynamic characteristics of the thin-walled square tube are discussed.
