The stress analysis around an oblique circular hole of an infinite plate will be one of the important things to obtain basic data for machine design of this problem. The experimental results by the photoelastic stress freezing method were reported by us for several cases of the hole diameter to plate width ratio. In this paper these results are compared with the one calculated by the finite element method. It can be said that the obtained values prove the experimental ones except for the points near the acute-angled edge of the hole.
