The high-pressure apparatus for research and production usually uses a pressure produced by an external force. Such apparatus cannot be prevented from pressure-leakage and frictional force. In this paper, a new type of apparatus is devised which generates a high pressure by converting thermal energy to mechanical one in a thermally isolated system. The energy conversion is done by restraining the thermal expansion of the system. The pressure-leakage and frictional force do not appear in the new type apparatus. The pressure generated in this apparatus is investigated by the theoretical calculation and experiment. A method for measuring the pressure under the high temperature is established in the process of experiment. As the result of investigation, it is ascertained that a high pressure can be obtained by this apparatus and that the theoretical values agree well with the experimental values.
