In order to analyze natural frequencies and modes of rotating impellers, a method based on the Finite Element Method and the Cyclic Symmetry Method is presented in this paper. The Cyclic Symmetry Method is efficient in analyzing dynamic characteristics of rotating impellers accurately; it is sufficient to calculate each single substructure of all the rotating impellers in the same manner as stationary impellers, because impellers are generally regarded as periodically symmetric when rotating around axes of their structural symmetry. This proposed method is applied to analyzing a practical impeller, and the calculated results are compared with the experimental ones.
