Intraperitoneal injection of tritiated water at a dose of 0.0925 M Bq/g body weight in Swiss albino (female) mice showed variable effects at different time intervals on hexokinase isozymes I, II and IV (glucokinase) in brain and liver. Activities of different isozymes of hexokinase from both the tissues were assayed, which showed high variability in their respective activities following tritiated water treatment. However, total hexokinase activity in brain and liver both initially depressed, showed one recovery followed by a decline in activity which again crosses control value to show another recovery at 48 hours after treatment. The effects were followed upto 48 hours after tritiated water treatment.
