Serial Positron Emission Tomography Imaging of Changes in Amino Acid Metabolism in Low Grade Astrocytoma After Radio- and Chemotherapy : Case Report

• Low grade glioma症例について放射線化学療法後のアミノ酸代謝の変化を^<11>C-methioneをtracerとしたPETを用いて検討した. 腫瘍への^<11>C-methioneの集積は治療中に低下, 7ヶ月後には軽度上昇, しかし14ヶ月後には著明に低下した. しかしながら, X線CTでは明らかな変化は生じなかった. 一方, 対側灰白質は^<11>C-methioneの集積が徐々に低下した. この結果から放射線化学療法後, 形態学的変化がみられなくとも腫瘍内のアミノ酸代謝の変化は持続し, また放射線化学療法は正常脳組織に対し長期的な影響を与えることが明らかとなった.
