A solid ovarian tumor was removed at operation, and its light and electron microscopic appearance was that of a theca cell tumor. The cells from this tumor were cultivated in vitro for more than 80 days. Both estrogen and progesterone were excreted up to 71 days after the cells were cultivated, but they were not detectable after the cessation of cell growth in vitro.
