The technique of light scattering is applied to study phase transitions in dipalmitoyl lecithin vesicles in dilute suspensions of 0.05 mg/ml. The intensity curve of scattered light showed a maximum in the region of the phase transition temperature. Above the transition temperature, the scattered intensity decreases to about 58% of the intensity at 20℃ and the equivalent Stokes radii of vesicles increase. In the presence of 3 mM CaCl_2, the maximum in the intensity is not observed and the Stokes radii do not change in the temperature range of 20∼50℃.
