We performed a detailed study of the double exchange interaction. Having rearranged Kubo and Ohata's Hamiltonian [J. Phys. Soc. Jpn. 33 (1972) 21], we found that it can be treated perturbatively for the temperaure lower than T_C. The spin wave propagator was calculated and the spin stiffness was computed. It agrees reasonablly well with experimental results. We believe that the double exchange interaction is the fundamental mechanism in the perovskite manganites.
