Substittrted nickel zinc ferrites have 1.ceen prep?tred in the cotaaposition seriesNi0.5Zng.5Bi.Fez.g .04 with x having valtres in the range 0.05-0.2. The electrical condtrctivityof' the samples has been tneastrred over the teuaaper?ttture I2ll1g0150 to 300 K at frecjtrencies rang-ing from l kHz to l lVIHz. The 210 condtrctivity slaows a variattion of w' wlaere c; is the angtnlarfreqtrency axnd s is an exporuent having valtues in the range 0.6 to 0.8. Correlarted barrier hoppingunodel is fotznd to be satisfactory in explaining the condtrctivity xvlaich arises dtre to the preseraceof Fe" iotas. The latter are created Toecatrse a strlcstantial auaaotunt of' Bi" gets oxidized to tlaeBi" state.
