The probleun of ctrrrent drive in field-reversed configttrations, by applying two transverse tnagnetic fields rotating in opposite sense, is anatlyzed within the framework of' two-fltrid collisionatlequations. It is shown that it is possible to gener?tte opposite torques on electron and ions, while the net externally applied torqtre is xzanishing. In this scenario, xvall ir?teractions, collisionsxvith netrtrals and difftrsion effects are not reqtrired in order to tmaitatain the steady state. It isalso shoxvn tlaat, when electrons and ions are alnaost in phase with the txvo rotating fields, tlueinjected power is taaainly dissipated by collisions associated witln the azitntutl?al motion of botlaspecies, xvhich shotrld pertnit the ?tchieveraaetat of' significant plastaaa currenat drive efficiency infield-reversed configurations.
