Thermodynarnic properties of spin: l /2 two-leg ladders with alternating chains includingferrotmagnetic and antiferromagnetic interactions are disctrssed on the basis of the nuuaaericalresults obtained by qtrantuzn IVIonte Carlo simtrlations. As well as the role of exchange interactionof rungs, the essential role of the bond alternation in the chain on ladder systems is investigatedin connection with the appearance of characteristic properties in umagnetic susceptibilities andheat capacities, Furtherrnore, qtrantum effects on the ground-state energy are obtained. On thebasis of calctrlated restrlts, the relationship between singlet dinuer phases and Haldane states isdisctmssed.
