Defects in /7-brass quenched from 973 K have been examined by the transmissionelectron microscopy. It is revealed that most of so-called black spot defects are voidsof a rhombic dodecahedron surrounded by the {[10} planes with the edges along the(Ill) directions. Almost all voids are connected to antiphase boundaries, suggestingthat the ordering is promoted by the aid of queuached-in vacancies.
