The intensity distribution of elastic scattering agrees satisfactorily with thedynamical theory of electron diffraction if amorphous surface layer's such asoxide and contamination are quite thin. The extinction contour formed by inelasticscattering of plasmon excitation is studied in detail. The difference of absorptioncoefficients obtained from elastic scattering and electron microscopic images isestimated by including the deviation of the Bragg condition for inelastic s,cattering.
