Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Study of VO^<2+> Doped in Single Crystals of CoK_2(SO_4)_2・6H_2O

EPR of VO" doped in CoK.(SQ.).?6lI,0 Tutton salt single crystals hasbeen studied in the temperature range 300 K to 77 K at ?9.3 GHz. In contrastto the observation on VO" doped in (NH.),Zn(SQ.).'6H.0, where V -0 axiswas found to have three possible orientations with populations in the ratio 20 : 5 : ],we have observed only two nearly equal populous orientations with very differentlinewidths. The observation of resolved VO" spectra and their broadeningon lowering the temperature in CoK.(SO.). - 6H.O : VO" crystals have beendiscussed in terms of 'host spin-lattice relaxation narrowing.' Moreover, fromthe observed linewidths of the EPR spectra of VO" in CoK.(SQ.).'6II.0, T.of Co" in CoK.(SQ.).-6H,0 at 300Khas been estimated to be x10 "sec.
