Anisotropy in i>'?tensity of fltmorescence lines of YAIO.: Cr" sirngle crystal isjtteasured at 77 K. A relation of sonte of effective Hantiltonian paratvteters to the0ptical anisotropy of Cr" ions doped in a low symmetry crystal such as YAIO,is presented. Froxn the intensity ratio of 7157 to R. line, we find that two of fiveeffective Hamiltornian paranteters, b and ,l, are -l3.6cm ' and 13.2C111 'respectively.
