Ni/ bcc-Fe(001) multilayers have been grown by rneans of IVIBE. RHEED and X-ray diffractionpatterns indicate that the structure of 3ML Xi on bcc-Fe(001) is "bct", instead of an expectedbcc structure. The magnetic tnoment of bet-Xi is evaluated as 0.8 #B at 4.5 K, where we assumethat the moment of Fe is equivalent to that of btrlk Fe, The band calculation of the rnttltilayerindicates that the observed enhancernent is dtre to the enhanced moments of Xi and Fe at theinterface.
