XVe have studied structttral change of IVIBE grown Xi/Fe(001) and Cu/Fe(001) thin films usingRHEBD and X-ray diffraction taueasurements. Epitaxial bct-Ni fiJtn is grown initially up to 3IVIL, then it changes to reconstructed c(2x 2)-lilce structure for thicker filrn. 200 IVIL thick Xi filrnannealed at 520 K shows the clear forrnation of twinned domains of fcc-Ni{110}. The structuralchange of Ctt films exhibits alrnost the same as Xi, except that it nuaintains bcc sytntnetryup to abotrt 9 IVIL. Considering the lattice naisrnatch and the atomic volume, we discuss thesedifferences of strtrctural charage between Xi and Cu. Epitaxial growth of Ni on fcc-Avr(001) isalso reported.
