The complex dielectric constant of LizGe7O)5 crystal has been rneasured in the frequencyrange from 0.1 GHz to 30 GHz. The relaxation type dispersion which shows a soft relaxationalmode behavior has been observed near T.. Consistency between the relaxation type dispersionof tlue present study and the resonant type dispersion of the soft phonon mode by Volkov etat. is examined through the comparison of the dynamic and the static properties. From thepresent analysis, we conclude that the soft relaxational mode is due to the overdatnping of thesoft phonon mode.
