X-ray diffraction studies carried out on MnCo..Sb system revealed that the limitingvalue of single phase NiAs type crystal structure formation exists u)vto x=O.25. Thevariation of lattice parameters 'a' arnd 'c', magnetization and Curie temperature withincreasing Co concentration suggests that the excess Co atoms carry magnetic mo-ment and occupy the interstitial sites. The figure of merit evaluated from the Faradayrotation and the optical absorption coefficient at 6328 A was found to decrease withthe increase of Co concentration.
