On Generalized Gamma Functions Occurring in Diffraction Theory

As a generalization of the Gamma function defined for a single complex variable, anew special function called a generalized Gamma function, defined for two complexvariables and a positive integer, is introduced, and several important analytical prop-erties are investigated in detail, which include regularity, asymptotic expansions andanalytic continuations. Furthermore, as a function closely related to a generalizedGamma function, a generalized incomplete Gamma function, which is a generaliza-lion of the incomplete Gamma function, is also introduced, and some fundamentalproperties are investigated briefly.[special function, Gamma function, asymptotic expansion, Wiener-Hopf tech- lj nique, scattering and diffractionI
