The magnetic structure in coaxial-gun-sustained spheromaks has been investigated. The plasma gun has been operated with a small axial / radial bitts magnetic flux as com-pared to the azimuthal magnetic flux produced by the discltarge current. Strongermagnetic field is observed in the entrance region (ER) than in the flux conserver (FC).In both ER and FC, the magnetic structure is nearly axisymmetric. The axialmagnetic field in ER is amplified up to about sixteen times as large as the biasmagnetic field. This amplification is limited by the drastic change in the magneticstructure, which occurs when the discharge current becomes very large. The magneticstructure before the drastic change is interpreted with the Bessel function model. Thep estimation shows that the magnetic structure is mainly determined by the boundarygeometry, not by the external magnetic flux and c:urrent.[coaxial-gun-sustained spheromak, long pulse operation of the plasma gun, flux- lj core spheromak, entrance region, relaxed state, eigenvalue 7t of the relaxed state l
