By showing that the L. norm of the error (or residual) term in the Boltzmann equa-tion is nonvanishing, it is proven that no exact solution should exist in the bimodalform for the structure of an irnfinitely strong shock wave. In addition, the most prop-er nondimensional form of the "error" norm is clescribed.
