• The viscosity of a liquid generally decreases exponentially with the rise in tempera-ture. A simple-kinetic theory of this behavior is given in terms of the momentumtransfer by vacancies. The present theory is mainly developed for a simple liquid butthe main ideas should be applicable to a general liquid.
